A micropigmentation session lasts 2-3 hours per treatment area. We start by analyzing your bone structure and features to choose the most natural shape, color, and tecnique right for your skin. We study your skin's undertone to anticipate how colors will fade over time. The majority of our clients' cosmetic tattoos stay true to color. However, there are some cases where colors fade to due to lifestyle or iron deficiencies. At your follow up spa visit, we re-analyze how your body responded to the initial color and make changes, if needed, to prevent future color change.
Your comfort is paramount to us. A highly-effective, topical anesthetic ensures you remain comfortable the entire treatment. Most of our clients describe the procedures as only moderately uncomfortable.
Immediately after the spa treatment, you may experience tenderness, redness, and swelling. This will subside over the next two days. Your fresh pigment will appear darker than expected for the first few days and will gradually lighten.
The success of a micropigmentation treatment depends on how well you follow after care instructions. It is essential to keep the treated area dry for the first 72 hours and then moist, thereafter. Do not rub or pick as the color will peel off prematurely. Avoid extreme heat and contaminated water (saunas, hot tubs, pools, lakes).
As with any tattoo, sun exposure makes color fade faster. To retain color, apply sunscreen daily after healing. We use an iron-oxide based pigment which is absorbed by your body over time. The fading speed depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sun exposure, pigment color used, broken capillaries, iron deficiency, and skin treatments after cosmetic tattooing. Although an initial touch up is included with your first spa treatment, you may need a touch up every 1-3 years to keep pigment true. Our team will help you keep your shape and color looking its best so you can enjoy waking “made-up” every morning!
PLEASE NOTE: Everyone has a unique skin tone and healing process which may affect how an individual retains pigment. Results are not guaranteed.
